“Friends near and far…”

We just wanted to say how glad we are to have friends in our lives!! Our dear friend, AJ (our live in housemate for the past 8 months) is marrying our new friend, Dominique, in less than two weeks. We are so excited for the wedding itself because it will actually be the first wedding Daniel has officiated! It will be really special for him to get to marry these two people we have grown to love so much. Also, our daughter, May, will get to be their flower girl!! We’re just hoping she doesn’t freeze up and actually makes it down the aisle! :)

We are also very excited about their wedding because several of our friends from Olympia will be coming for the wedding and will be staying with us! Our friends, Jessica Jambor and the Fisher family (yay!), will get to see where we live and spend some much needed time with us. Justin Fisher is a groomsman in the wedding, so it will be a really fun family/friends/wedding weekend! We are so excited for our kids to get to see some of their very special friends from Washington too!

Finally, our friend Geoff Chase will be moving in with us for the Summer to help out with Redemption Church as a mission trip. He is also a groomsman in the wedding, so he will be flying in around the same time as everybody else! We will have a full house, but it will be so wonderful to see our friends’ faces and hug and laugh together in person. You can be praying for Geoff as he spends his summer here seeking the Lord and serving with us in Delray. (we’ll probably be blogging more about him soon J

So, we just wanted to share the love and how thankful and blessed we are to have so many people in our lives who God has brought to encourage and love us.

Easter RECAP: Our FIRST services at Redemption Church!

We want to thank all of you who joined us praying for our Easter services this past Sunday morning in Delray Beach. It was such an incredible weekend, and we were so glad to have all of you caring and praying for us and those who came!

We were very blessed to have people from our community here in Delray Beach join us to celebrate the life of Jesus. We had friends from the area, visitors from out of town, people on vacation, and local neighbors who had seen our signs in the park. One woman who joined us had been invited when we went door to door in the neighborhood! We were so glad to see both faces of people we recognized and some that we did not. We made some new friends and our hearts are very full.

We arrived at the community center at about 7am, and we began setting up for our services to be ready at 9am. Our first service was smaller, but it was at this service that the Lord spoke to one man who came and he accepted Jesus as his Savior! We are so excited to see God working, and having this man respond to the Gospel message was very moving and exciting for us! After the first service was done, we had a short break before our second service to head out into the local park to invite people to join us at 11am. Our second service had more people, and looking out into the group that had gathered during worship just brought smiles to our faces. So beautiful to see the fruit of all God has been doing in us and for us this past year!

All of our volunteers were AWESOME!!! They worked very hard to put everything together and tear down with us. We had amazing Sunday School teachers and helpers, and even though there weren’t many children in attendance, those that came were blessed! And now we have all the leftover craft supplies to use on Thursday nights! :)

Our Thursday evening services began THIS WEEK on April 12th down at the community center, and we are praying that God continues to reach people in Delray and draws them close to Him. We even saw another person decide to follow Jesus for the first time yesterday night and we are so thrilled that God's Word is going forth and bearing fruit in people's lives already. We are continuing to invite and spread the word about Redemption Church now that we will have a public location to be meeting down at Veteran’s Park Community Center. The services will run from 7pm to 8:30pm with children’s classes always provided.

Just wanted to share our excitement and PRAISE to God for doing such amazing things here at Redemption Church. We are continuing to walk in faith and hope in all He has called us to.

Be blessed,
Daniel and Laura

Sailing on a ship (cover)

Wanted to share a song that we have been playing lately. :) It's called "Sailing on a Ship," by Phil Wickham. It's one of my favorite songs that we sing--one reason being that the story behind it is from "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader." I have been reading the Chronicles of Narnia this year, and have had this song in my mind the whole time. It's a beautiful song, and we hope you enjoy it. -Laura

Our Mailey Jean…

We do our best to update you not only on how the church is doing, but on our family life as well…Jeremiah is all settled into preschool now, and we wanted to do a little highlight on our baby girl. :)

May is enjoying her time home with Mama in the mornings while Jeremiah is at school…she is also very jealous that he gets to go and she doesn’t! She pretends school at home all the time now, and calls me “Teacher Mama.” Lol! She is hilarious. Also, for a girl that talks non-stop, she is still pretty hard to understand unless you’re around her a lot like we are—we’re sticking a couple short videos of her for you to enjoy and laugh at! The first one is right before we picked Jeremiah up from preschool last week. You will notice Daniel’s curls on her in this one. :)

This one is May explaining what happens when you get a shot. (She was trying to prepare Jeremiah for his 5 year old check up…and the reason it is only sound and not video is because I took it after putting them to bed and was cracking up listening to her, so I had to record it. It’s worth the minute or so it takes to listen to her explanation. :)

Last one. This is just May singing her ABC’s with Jeremiah’s pirate hook on her hand. Which, by the way, he freaked out when he came home and found her ABC stickers all over it! Lol! Mr. and Mrs. Drama, you know. :)

Okay, enjoy!

Getting Ready for EASTER

Our lives have just taken a huge leap into a new realm of busy! We are SO excited that Redemption Church will be having it’s first ever Easter services in just a little over two weeks!! This means that our family is extremely focused right now on preparing…

Every morning we go and set up our sandwich boards with flyers downtown by Veteran’s Park Community Center where the services will be held, and each night we go and pick them up before it gets dark. Our friend, AJ, has been helping pass out flyers by the beach and has been building backdrops and painting them in our front yard… :) We’re preparing for Sunday School, making bulletins…it’s pretty awesome, and also very overwhelming. But, as you can read in our newsletter (coming out this week!!), God has been faithful in the little AND the big things as we have stepped out in faith!

Be praying for us, and most of all for those who will be coming! We are inviting people every day, and need to get out a couple thousand flyers in the next week or so! You can go to our church website to see more! www.redemptionindelraybeach.com
